Training Launching Session | Dnipro | 26 May 2026
On May 26, 2026, the PowHER Leaders Programme (Digital and AI Capacity Development for Women Trainers in Ukraine) was officially launched. The event took place in a hybrid format, simultaneously bringing together participants at locations in Dnipro and Lviv, as well as the international project team. This approach facilitated not only an effective start to the training but also an active exchange of experience and the establishment of new professional connections.
Hosted by Dnipro University of Technology, the event brought together 20 female trainers with varying levels of professional experience, united by the goal of improving their skills and creating new opportunities for society. During the official opening, Artem Pavlychenko, First Vice-Rector of the University, delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and the implementation of socially significant initiatives.
As part of the presentation session, representatives of the international consortium shared their experience, project vision, and the key tasks of the partners. The practical component of the event included a special workshop dedicated to the methodology of testing ideas, formulating inquiries, and conducting an in-depth analysis of the target audience's needs.
Over the coming months, program participants will master artificial intelligence tools in education, the fundamentals of design thinking, and the principles of creating an inclusive environment. The training will be conducted in the format of webinars, workshops, and mentoring sessions. The main outcome for each trainer will be the development and testing of her own project aimed at supporting women and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in matters of adaptation, employment, or starting their own business.
The University expresses its gratitude to the project coordinator, LIFE Academy, and personally to Sara Jansson for their continuous support in developing the consortium. Special thanks go to Lesia Doroshenko, the project coordinator from Dnipro University of Technology, and Tatiana Mamatova, the leading expert, for the high level of training organization, as well as the creation of an atmosphere of trust and cooperation.
The PowHer project is funded by the Swedish Institute and implemented by a joint Swedish-Ukrainian team: LIFE Academy, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm University, Dnipro University of Technology, Ukrainian Distance Learning (UDL) System, and the Sustainable Development and Innovation Agency (SDIA NGO).
